We had two days of “summer” this weekend and it was glorious! I made Aperol spritzes and we opened the windows and pretended we were summering in the Italian Alps. Alas, we’re back to freezing rain again, but I did manage to find some fiddleheads at a local store, so at least we’ll have a springy meal soon. Everything’s been a bit busier than usual recently, so I’ll keep this post short, but I hope that 1) you enjoy this drink recipe and 2) we get the weather to match it very soon!
Aperol Spritz
- 2 oz. Aperol
- 3 oz. prosecco or other sparkling wine
- Splash of seltzer or club soda
- Ice cubes
- Orange slice for garnish
- Fill a wine glass or tumbler halfway with ice. Add the Aperol, then the prosecco. Top with a splash of seltzer and an orange slice. Cheers! If you want to get really crazy, sub an ounce of Campari for one ounce of the Aperol. It won’t be an Aperol spritz anymore, but it will be a little more bitter and really delicious.
