This weekend I didn’t do very much cooking because we ended up eating out at restaurants a lot. We’ve been making the rounds of our favorite places in New York, because at the end of the month we are moving to Boston! Andrew is going to be doing doctoral studies in music and I am still applying for jobs, and the whole thing is exciting but a little stressful. So while we get our move all sorted out, I’ll probably be keeping my posts on the shorter for the next few weeks.
Visiting our favorite restaurants and checking new experiences off of our list has not been stressful, however, and is one of the most fun aspects of this change. On Saturday we went to our favorite place for dumplings and noodles, Yunnan Flavor Garden. They were just as delicious as always! On Sunday we drove to Ocean Grove Beach in New Jersey to meet up with my parents. We explored the beautiful little sea town and walked down to the beach at Asbury Park for swimming and sunbathing. Dinner was at Sea Grass in Ocean Grove, where everyone ordered the seafood pasta. Yum!
After dinner it was back to Brooklyn to get ready for another week! I’m going to try out a new recipe for Korean brisket in the slow cooker tomorrow, and this weekend we’ll attempt some Hawaiian-ish pulled pork, also in the slow cooker. What are you cooking this week?
