Friday Favorites 8.10.18
I mentioned it about a month ago, and I’m finally following through—Friday Favorites is here! This list will be coming to you on occasional Fridays, and it’s where I’ll share some links to things I think are exciting, fun, thought-provoking, or otherwise share-worthy. Here goes for the inaugural post!
Are you watching the Perseid meteor shower this weekend? Find info on when, where, and how to see it here.
I love free things as much as Oprah loves bread, so I was really excited to learn about Culture Pass, a new program that allows you to visit museums for free using your NYC library card!
Andrew and I visited the Bowie Is exhibition before it closed at the Brooklyn Museum, and one of my favorite parts of the exhibition was a trunk full of books from David Bowie’s top 100 book list. You can find the full list here.
I’m getting a little obsessed with fermenting things. So far I’ve made a spiced red cabbage and beet kraut, a turmeric-carrot-cabbage kraut, and a celery kohlrabi kraut with fennel and ajwain seeds. I can’t wait for this book to be released in October. Getting ready to go completely down the rabbit hole.
I just got my iPhone battery replaced, and it’s been life-changing! I can now respond to an email on the go (or write a blog post on the subway) without my phone dying. Apple is offering $29 iPhone battery replacements through December 2018.
I’ve been making a gradual transition to using natural beauty products. I just splurged on this beautiful nail polish in a deep red.
I drink a lot of herbal tea (yes, even in the summer), and this cinnamon-spice one has been a recent favorite.
Happy Friday, everyone!
