Before we even had time to start missing the cheese curds, we found ourselves back in Wisconsin, this time for the wedding of my friends Amanda and Myles, both of them singers and some of the most positive, quirky, and energetic people I’ve ever met. It was a full weekend of friends and wedding events. Here are some photos of the food and fun!
Some food/drink highlights of the trip were: delicious mac and cheese at the wedding, a black walnut stout at the afterparty, some pretty tasty pizza at the wedding and the night before, hearty Bavarian appetizers like pretzels and cured meats at the party the day before the wedding, and a tasty roasted veggie hash the morning after the wedding.
I’m writing this on the (delayed) plane back to NY (thank goodness for the WordPress iPhone app!), and while I’m savoring the happy celebration memories, I’m also plotting out some healthy foods for the week. As much as I love restaurants and parties, it’s always great to get back to my own kitchen to prepare simple dishes that are a little lighter on the salt, the fried, the meat, and the dairy. I see a lot of salads, green smoothies, and kombucha in my futcha (future) this week!
