Chatham Lobstah Long Weekend
I’m spending this holiday weekend with family on Cape Cod in the town of Chatham, trying to eat as much seafood as possible, swim in the ocean without burning myself crispy (difficult!), and make a serious dent in my current read, Min Jin Lee’s Pachinko, which I absolutely love so far. Tonight we’re grilling and making s’mores, with a clambake planned for somewhere in our near future as well. Seafood varieties I’ve already eaten this weekend: lobster (a lot! lobster roll, lobster bisque, lobster mac and cheese, lobster butter biscuit), oysters, clams, shrimp, scallops.
Here are a few food photos for you!
Lobster bisque and lobster roll at the Chatham Squire (the lobster roll at Brax Landing was also very good, but my photo of it wasn’t!):
Lobster mac at the Mad Minnow (picture taken outside in the dark):
Scoop of ginger and scoop of double chocolate at Buffy’s Ice Cream Shop:
Hot dog (not sure the last time I ate one of those!) with corn and zucchini, grilled at the house we’re renting:
Here we are at Lighthouse Beach (I got too giggly to pose for the photo):
We can see fireworks from our deck here, so on the 4th we’ll watch from the house, which seems extremely decadent! I don’t think I’ll be ready to leave on Wednesday, it’s so beautiful here. What are you up to for the holiday?
